Rostock is a North German large, university and Hanseatic city with access to the Baltic Sea. Rostock has a Baltic Sea port which is important for ferry traffic and cargo handling, as well as the largest German cruise terminal in the Warnemünde district. It is characterized by its location on the sea, its harbor, a lively cosmopolitan cultural scene, as well as beside many other universities, the well-known University of Rostock, founded in 1419 and thus the oldest university in the Baltic Sea region.
